Popular riverside free house, next to Low Bridge, where friendly staff always give a warm welcome. The original bare brick walls, real fire and wood burning stove all contribute to its cosy atmosphere. There is a small attractive enclosed outdoor area at the back with tables and chairs and some benches under heated awnings; dogs are welcome in the outside area. There is also limited bench seating at the front of the pub. Four handpumps dispense a varying range of beers, one from Rooster’s brewery and three others mostly from Yorkshire breweries, often including a dark beer. A grazing menu of meat and cheese boards complements the beers and is available every day until 9pm, with pizzas served Tuesday to Thursday evenings. Coffee and home-made cakes are also available at all times.
